About the Academic Unit At the Bachelor’s level, the Department has 4 programs: Mechanical, Aerospace, Biomedical & Mechanical, and Sustainable & Renewable Energy Engineering. The Aerospace Engineering program is divided into 4 streams: Stream A (Aerodynamics, Propulsion, and Vehicle Performance), Stream B (Aerospace Structures, Systems, and Vehicle Design), Stream C (Aerospace Electronics and Systems), and Stream D (Space Systems Design). At the Master’s level, the Department offers degrees in Mechanical, Aerospace, Materials, Biomedical, and Sustainable Energy Engineering. At the Ph.D. level, the Department offers degrees in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. The Department’s substantial strength in aerospace engineering stems from a very long history of aerospace education and research. The size and breadth of the Department’s faculty complement with research expertise in aerospace place Carleton amongst the leading aerospace institutions in Canada.
