Location: KW Campus Work Type: Part Time Shift: United Steelworkers Responsibilities Twenty four hour Security coverage of the hospital with a dedicated officer in the Emergency Department Immediate response to all Hospital Emergency Codes Asset protection Maintaining a safe environment for Patients, Staff, Physicians & Volunteers Access control Issuing parking infraction notices Assisting clinical staff with patient care as required Will be required to work at both the KW and Freeport Campuses, with the primary site as KW Campus Qualifications Grade 12 education or equivalent Valid Ontario Security Guard License required Must have 2-year Law and Security course or equivalent combination of experience and education 3 years of Security experience is preferred Ability to communicate with the general public and other Hospital staff and external emergency personnel Good oral and written skills Ability to walk or stand for long periods of time Must have CPR and First Aid Certificate Ability to make decisions in emergency or stressful situations Must be able to prioritize workload Ability to work with minimum supervision Excellent computer skills Some mechanical abilities Excellent attendance record As part of our commitment to the health and safety of our patients, staff and community from COVID-19, subject to any accommodation required by applicable human rights legislation, Grand River Hospital requires that all staff have received all required doses of a COVID-19 vaccine approved by Health Canada.
