Crowe Memorial Hospital (Eriksdale) Department / Unit: Eriksdale Mobile Ultrasound Job Stream: Clinical Union: MAHCP Anticipated Start Date - End Date: ASAP - Indefinite Reason for Term: Other Leave FTE: 0.60 Anticipated Shift: Days Work Arrangement: In Person Daily Hours Worked: 7.75 Annual Base Hours: 2015 Salary: $48,428 – $56,145 Position Overview Under the general supervision of the Charge Medical Technologist or designate, the General Duty Ultrasound Technologist provides delivery of ultrasound services as defined at regional and local levels. The incumbent performs ultrasound scans requested by physicians and manages related patient care, exam requests, diagnostic file management, equipment and supplies. In unusual circumstances the incumbent may assist in radiographic/ECG duties, if appropriately trained and qualified. The incumbent maintains a safe environment in accordance with professional and provincial guidelines, ensuring compliance with quality assurance programs and accreditation standards. Experience Previous related experience preferred. Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate) Must be a graduate of an approved and accredited ultrasound training program. Certification / Licensure / Registration Must be a Registered Ultrasound Technologist with active registration with Sonography Canada and/or the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS). Registration with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiography Technologists (CAMRT) would be an asset. Qualifications And Skills Proficient with Windows computer environment. Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs preferred. Follow oral and written instructions precisely with attention to detail. Strong effective oral and written communication skills required in English. Ability to work independently and as a team member. Organizational and interpersonal skills with ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships in a multi-disciplinary team environment and with external agencies, groups and the public. Proficient analytical skills. Ability to work under pressure. Maintains confidentiality with all information entrusted to the position. Fluent language skills (written and oral) in both French and English may be required. Ability to perform duties as described.
