The Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) is a regulatory agency that reports to the Ministry of the Attorney General. The AGCO is responsible for regulating the alcohol, gaming, horseracing, and private cannabis retail sectors in Ontario, in accordance with the principles of honesty and integrity, and in the public interest.

The Information and Information Technology (I&IT) Division of the AGCO is looking for a Senior Advisor, Vendor and Contracts Management. Reporting to the Senior Manager, I&IT Portfolio & Business Management Office, the Senior Advisor, Vendor and Contracts Management position is responsible for managing critical supplier and vendor relationship management for the Information and Information Technology Division. This includes managing vendor relationships and contracts from RFB to contract renewal and/or termination with the purpose of achieving the optimal value for the Information and Information Technology Division.

In this role, the successful candidate will:

  • Monitor and manage supplier service level targets and other metrics to achieve planned business objectives; define appropriate performance targets for suppliers based upon contractual obligations, relevant industry practices or standards.
  • Monitor supplier audits: review reports and work with vendors to mitigate any findings and provide audit reporting to I&IT Senior Leadership Team.
  • Conduct annual reviews of suppliers on performance and contractual compliance and hold vendors accountable to their contractual obligations, developing reports of obligations and missed attainment for I&IT Senior Leadership Team and provide suppliers with feedback regarding performance.
  • Review, recommend or negotiate changes to vendor change orders, invoices, or other contractual documents and processes.
  • Build, review, and refine vendor performance evaluation criteria and maintain records of Contractor’s/Vendor’s performance.
  • Identify areas of opportunities and risk reduction; analyze contracts and identify areas for cost reduction, cost avoidance and exposure to risk and provide mitigating solutions.
  • Develop and recommend key performance metrics (or OKRs) to monitor and evaluate vendor/supplier performance.
  • Develop and maintain an effective contract management program, including a Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) process, that can provide data to relevant stakeholders across I&IT.
  • Establish contract management policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Implement detailed plans and initiatives and recommends policies/procedures regarding program specific requirements.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in supplier relationship management and performance.
  • Experience in IT contract management, payments, invoicing requests for bids, tenders and renewals.
  • Knowledge of vendor (risk) management framework.
  • Demonstrated ability to build sustainable, transparent relationships/partnerships.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated experience working successfully in an environment involving multiple stakeholders with competing objectives.
  • Organizational skills with demonstrated ability to set priorities, meet and manage multiple and conflicting deadlines.
  • The successful candidate must be eligible to work in Canada and will be subject to a criminal background check.
