Technical Architect (Cloud) Apply now Job no : WWREQ0032137 Employment type : Full Time Location : Perth Categories : Architecture, Networks & Systems Administration About The Role We're expanding our Cloud Architecture capability and are seeking a skilled Cloud Technical Architect to play a pivotal role in designing and delivering innovative cloud solutions for one of our major government customers. Working across Azure, identity platforms, and hybrid infrastructure, you'll shape secure, scalable, and cost‑efficient architectures while supporting delivery teams in bringing these solutions to life. You’ll work closely with stakeholders to understand business requirements, translate them into technical designs, prepare documentation, and guide implementation. This role will see you navigating complex cloud environments, contributing to governance frameworks, and ensuring that solutions align with security, performance, and compliance standards. Responsibilities Designing end-to-end cloud, identity, and infrastructure solutions using Microsoft Azure. Developing solution architectures, technical design documents, and implementation roadmaps. Building proof‑of‑concepts to demonstrate emerging design options and viability. Providing technical leadership and guidance to delivery teams during solution deployment. Collaborating with stakeholders to align technology solutions to business needs. Supporting troubleshooting and resolution of complex technical issues. Ensuring compliance with governance, security controls, and cost optimisation frameworks. Contributing to infrastructure‑as‑code standards using ARM, Bicep, and Azure DevOps pipelines. What you’ll bring to the table Proven experience delivering cloud solutions using Azure Serverless Services, App Services, API Management, Virtual Networks, Storage Accounts, Azure Policy, Logic Apps, and Azure DevOps. Strong knowledge of Entra ID, Azure AD B2C, identity and access management, and role‑based security models. Expertise in hybrid environments including on‑premises technologies (VMware) and cloud integration. Experience with governance, cost optimisation, and implementing security controls in cloud environments. Proficiency with infrastructure‑as‑code (ARM and Bicep), along with PowerShell scripting and Python automation. Strong working knowledge of Windows Server, Microsoft 365 (Exchange, Teams, SharePoint / OneDrive, Power Platform). Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders and articulate technical concepts clearly. Must be able to obtain a security clearance. Having a current and active baseline or NV1 security clearance is highly desirable.
