This role sits within the broader strategy team, ensuring that campaigns are not only data-driven but also culturally resonant, inclusive, and impactful. The Senior DEI Planner combines analytical expertise with a deep understanding of multicultural audiences to design media strategies that create measurable business outcomes while advancing inclusive representation. Attention to detail, comfort presenting, and an ability to coach are all essential. Starcom has experienced an incredible growth rate over the past years. The network has transformed and moved at the pace of culture.ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with creative, account managers and other agencies across clients to ensure integrated campaign executionsSupports senior members of the team with training, guidance and feedback for assistant and media plannersBuild and maintain strong relationships with multicultural media vendors, publishers and community partnersServes as the key person of clients and planning teams on multicultural media planning and buying best practicesResponsible for client relationship management, project tracking and organizationResponsible for day to day oversight on campaigns, with a particular focus on reporting and optimizationAnalyzing campaign performance daily, compiling/checking reports from partners and CM360 and working towards optimizationGathering and analyzing marketing, industry, and geographic landscape research to determine how best to respond to the client’s advertising and media needsUnderstanding marketing objectives and how they translate into mediaDeveloping an understanding of the client’s business and competitive landscapeOverseeing budget allocations across media resulting in strategic and effective media plansPresenting plans to the client, and guiding planners on development and creation of strategy and decksClearly communicating media objectives, strategies and executional guidelines to execution teams and external partnersMaintaining strong relationships with media suppliersUtilization and knowledge of syndicated media, research, and other data resourcesActive ownership of internal and external status documents and meetingsDeveloping POVs Collecting and managing data to ensure monthly billing is accurate and on timeQualificationsUnderstanding of the digital performance marketing ecosystem 2-3 years experience planning online and offline channels with emphasis on digital and performance mediaBachelor's degree; degree or concentration in advertising, marketing, business administration, and communications preferredStrong written and verbal communication and presentation skillsDemonstrated experience in negotiationAble to work successfully within a team, owning projects and knowing when to delegate to manage a high volume client, while meeting deadlinesDemonstrated critical thinking and problem solving abilitiesStrong analytical abilities & proficiency in mathAbility to effectively utilize media research and reporting resourcesTechnical proficiency, particularly with media systems and MS Excel, Word and PowerPointExperience with Media Planning Tools (Vividata, GWI etc.)Strong Understanding of Canadian multicultural landscape, media consumption, habits and cultural nuancesKnowlege of languages: Cantonese or MandarinAdditional InformationStarcom is an equal opportunity employer with a strong commitment to diversity and inclusion.
