As our innovative business grows rapidly, we are seeking full-time **Smokehouse Machine Operator** in our facilitiesin **Edmonton**. The Smokehouse Machine Operator is responsible for managing the entire smoking process, from selecting the right wood and seasoning to monitoring the temperature and humidity levels. A smokehouse operator must have excellent attention to detail, knowledge of food safety regulations, and the ability to maintain a clean and organized workspace. **Position:** Full-Time, Permanent **Schedule:** Monday to Friday, 8am to 4:30pm **Roles and Responsibilities:*** Adheres to safe work practices.* Full accountability on fill rates.* Must understand production potentials and yield gaps.* Operate equipment and machinery used in the smokehouse production process* Monitor temperature and humidity levels in the smokehouse to ensure product quality.* Ensure that all products are smoked to the correct level and meet safety standards* Keep accurate records of all products processed in the smokehouse* Ensure that all safety regulations and protocols are followed at all times* Assist with packaging and labeling of finished products* Work collaboratively with other team members to meet production goals and deadlines* Must understand food safety guidelines.* Guarantees on-time delivery standards.* Maintains a high fill rate performance.* Operate all equipment as per expectations.* Meet with the direct supervisor (daily).* Reports any deviations and/or personnel issues to his/her direct supervisor.* Plan and execute production to fulfill all regulatory as well as SQF requirements.* Perform any other duties as required.**Skills and Qualifications:*** Experience in smoking meats and operating smokehouse equipment will be an asset.* Knowledge of various types of wood chips and how they affect the flavor of meat* Ability to maintain and clean smokehouse equipment* Understanding of food safety regulations and best practices for handling and storing meat* Physical ability to lift and move heavy cuts of meat* Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain consistent quality in smoked meats* Willingness to work early morning and/or late night shifts* Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment**Intercity Packers offers a range of benefits, including:*** Comprehensive health and dental benefits (including vision, prescription drugs, disability, and extended health coverage)* Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP) Matching Program* Annual Profit Sharing Bonus* Employee Family Assistance Program* Opportunities for career advancement* Employee Recognition Programs* Company-sponsored events (Family Picnic, Staff Celebration, BBQs)* Training opportunities* Annual Safety Boot Allowance Program* Full-time hours* A team-oriented work environment* Special employee discounts on meat and seafood productsWe thank all applicants for their interest, however only those selected for the next stage will be contacted.
