That is why at IMP, you are not defined by your role.Reporting to the Contracts Manager, the successful candidate will be expected to integrate with the existing procurement team in providing timely and cost-effective procurement, including value added sourcing and ordering of parts, materials, equipment and services by applying and adhering to best supply chain practices.Source parts, materials, equipment and services from established vendors as well as seek new vendors as requiredImplement and execute commodity strategy to support cost, quality, supplier reduction, and delivery sourcing goalsReview internal requests, prepare and release requests for quote (RFQ), and negotiate pricing with suppliersCreate purchase orders from approved suppliers in accordance with Standard Plant Procedures (SPP’s) and Administrative Directives (AD’s)Responsible for the management of these purchase orders in the MRP system (JD Edwards) including updating promised delivery dates and any purchase order notes (i.e: delivery status, constraints and risk)Develop supplier relationships to ensure all parts & materials meet the requirements of internal and external customersAction discrepant, defective or unacceptable products/services with Receiving Inspection, Receiving and Quality Assurance departments, end users, vendors and others to determine the source and root cause of the problem and action the necessary corrective / preventative actions as requiredAction invoice discrepancies accurately and in a timely mannerInterface with key stakeholders in a pro-active manner to obtain and provide information, including procurement technical advice in support of overall operationsRecommend and implement cost reduction initiativesWork within and promote Lean practices to meet departmental and divisional goalsMeet industry representatives on behalf of the companyCarry out special assignments as requiredWhat You Will Bring:Preference given to Post-secondary education with 1 to 3 years’ experience in supply chain ideally in the aerospace and/or aviation industries; or same level of experience in a similar type of complex and dynamic technical environmentPreference given to candidate pursuing Supply Management Training (SMT) Program, Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) Designation, P.Log. or equivalentSkill in using MRP system; knowledge of JD Edwards would be considered an assetIntermediate to advanced computer skills – Emphasis on MS Office and use of MRP/ERP systemsExperience in aerospace purchasing an assetDynamic and have the ability to multi-task and shift priorities in a very demanding work environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy and detailMust be available for after regular hours evening / weekend coverage on an overtime and / or rotating shift basis if required.Demonstrate a personal commitment to IMP Occupational Health, Safety and Environment policies.
