Key responsibilities for the role Intermediate level within the Claim/Delay function of EllisDon Risk Management and Claims Department Responsibilities To take an intermediate role as part of a team of Project Managers and Construction Claim professionals in the preparation and writing of contractual claim documents. Provide advice, assistance and advocacy to referring or responding parties. Able to work and interface with specialists and experts in technical/engineering matters, contract entitlement, cost and time/delay analysis. To take information and argument from specialist disciplines and prepare high quality persuasive claim documents. Good knowledge of planning techniques and forensic/delay analysis techniques and the ability to include such analysis into well written claim documents. Attention to detail, high standard of writing/drafting skills. Good knowledge and experience with Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project planning software in addition to other MS software i.e. Excel/Word/PowerPoint. Able to communicate other Project staff and inspire in all Delay related aspects of Contract Solutions. Management of planning matters for claims preparation and assessment including scheduling, delay/EOT and disruption analysis. Drafting the delay part of the EOT/disruption claim including chronology of events and delay analysis narrative. Evaluation of project schedules and records to determine cause, effect and liability for construction delay and/or disruption. To work as a team member and directly with EllisDon’s Disputes/Claims Resolution team and Legal Council. Experience and Qualifications Degree qualified (BSc) in construction, or engineering related discipline. Demonstrable training in claims and disputes. Minimum of 5 years’ direct experience in the preparation of construction based on contractual claims and complete documents. Experience in the construction field. Good knowledge of different contract standard forms. Able to take and analyze specialist and expert information, make decisions and be accountable for their own work. Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines on high value, high profile critical claims.
