OverviewBusiness Center Practice Leader - Energy & Resources at Stantec. The BCPL is the “seller/doer” who is integral in winning work and leading delivery, working with Regional Sector Leaders and Account Managers. The role supports the BC’s top line, drives growth, and delivers innovative design solutions with quality and execution that exceed client expectations. The BCPL inspires teams, drives practice excellence with support from Technical Practice Leaders, Project Managers, and Project Technical Leads, and ensures alignment with bottom-line performance. This position will ideally be located in British Columbia.Key ResponsibilitiesWork collaboratively with the WIN team to drive growth of Energy & Resources and the BC by supporting business development activities, key pursuits, and MB&D strategy.Engage with Sector Leaders and Account Managers to expand the BC’s reach and client base using marketing, business development, and account management plans.Increase visibility of Stantec by sharing knowledge and innovation at key client engagements to enhance reputation and drive revenue.Participate in Go/No Go reviews; contribute to win strategies and successful project execution through involvement in pursuits, client management, and project management.Lead the annual marketing and business development plan for the BC and manage the marketing spend.Represent the BC through public speaking engagements and attendance at industry and community events, meetings, and conferences.Build strong partnerships with business leaders in other BCs and BOUs to foster collaboration, grow new expertise, increase work share opportunities, and drive growth.Collaborate with the BCOL in developing, attracting, engaging, and retaining top talent, and support the talent management lifecycle (career development, engagement, succession planning, coaching, mentoring, diversity and inclusion, leadership development).Establish employee connectedness to leadership by conducting BC-wide meetings and communicating vision, strategy and progress with the BCOL.Support the BCOL in meeting targets for net revenue, gross margin, overhead, and operating income.Help meet regional MBD, sales, and revenue targets within budget; contribute to net sales revenue, net sales growth, backlog, and MBD spend against budget.Adhere to utilization targets (40% to 50%).Capabilities And CredentialsProfessional degree and registration preferred; minimum of 10+ years in business development, account management, and project management in a multi-disciplinary practice.Demonstrated leadership on key projects and experience delivering project excellence.Strong seller-doer capable of generating work and building long-term client relationships for Stantec.Highly collaborative with ability to form partnerships across Integrated Design, Global Delivery Centers, and the Energy & Resources business line.Excellent oral and written communication, organization, coordination, leadership, team-building, and managerial skills.Knowledge of market assessment techniques, insights, and contacts.Entrepreneurial orientation with understanding of consulting-services business development challenges.Experience with responding to RFPs, EOIs, and SOQs; experience across multiple service offerings and sectors is a plus.Position will primarily work in an office setting; some field work and travel between offices may be required.This description is not a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities and may be changed at any time with or without notice.Pay and BenefitsPay ranges: Locations Outside of Lower Mainland - BC: Min $152,000; Max $235,600Locations in Lower Mainland - BC: Min $161,100; Max $249,700Pay Transparency: Pay ranges provided where required by law; final compensation based on education, qualifications, experience, and location.
