Powerline Technicians (PLT) Supervisors Our Distribution team is currently seeking Powerline Technicians (PLT) Supervisors to support our crews across Ontario. Reporting to the Construction Manager, this position plays a critical role in maintaining the safety, reliability, and resiliency of electrical distribution systems. Duties and Responsibilities Be the main point of contact for the Project / Construction Manager and subcontractors Lead on‑site crews while ensuring project construction activities are executed in compliance with project drawings, specifications, schedules, budget, safety and quality requirements and standards Erect and maintain wood or concrete poles, and guy wires Install, maintain and repair overhead and underground power lines and cables, insulators, conductors, lightning arrestors, switches, transformers, street lighting and other associated equipment Instruct, mentor and train junior personnel and apprentices in duties, safe work practices, care and use of tools and equipment in a positive respectful manner Have knowledge and expertise in the areas of construction, maintenance, and repair distribution power systems, coupled with the ability to follow instructions and procedures Conduct switching operations and isolation procedures in accordance with established safety and operational standards and install grounding devices to lines and equipment Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent using field management systems or work order tools Ensure compliance with all safety procedures, company standards, and applicable regulations (e.g., OH&S, CSA, IEEE) Requirements Journeyperson Powerline Technician (PLT) certification 7 years of electrical distribution experience Demonstrated leadership experience Class DZ Drivers license Preferred Skills / Qualifications Class 4 Rubber Glove experience AZ Drivers license Previous experience with Toronto Hydro distribution network Current Utility Worker Protection Code (UWPC) Training Standard First Aid (CPR/AED) Benefits We offer a comprehensive and competitive total rewards package that incorporates a complete range of employee benefits, including an RRSP matching program, to ensure you have the tools necessary to manage, maintain, and improve your health and wellbeing.
