You'll play a key role in critical project phases, from Basic Engineering and Detailed Engineering to Construction, gaining hands‑on experience across a variety of commodities. We are currently seeking an energetic and enthusiastic Procurement Specialist (Buyer) to join our Team in Calgary. About The Role Develop purchasing strategies and plans to achieve overall best value supply of materials, equipment and services in coordination with the Engineering team. Management of the formation process for procurement packages assigned to you, including pre‑qualification, tendering, clarification, evaluation, negotiations, and developing recommendations for award. Support progress updates in the procurement cycle for your assigned packages to drive delivery in support of the project schedule. Administration of awarded purchase contracts, including management of changes, invoicing, and closeout. Chair package meetings with suppliers, functional team members, and clients to support project delivery. Use and maintain project systems for all purchasing activities. Work closely with project functional team members, including Engineering, Project Controls, Construction, Contracts, Expediting, and Project Management. About You Degree or diploma level qualification in relevant field is desirable and/or equivalent work experience. 5 to 7 years of Procurement experience, preferably in consulting engineering or within a project environment. Experience with EPC/EPCM Procurement and associated systems for purchasing and package administration. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Attention to detail and accuracy. Mining project experience an asset. The ability to meet the challenge of tight deadlines and providing exceptional services to our clients is a must. Exceptional negotiating and networking skills would be a definite asset. A proven track record managing multiple projects simultaneously or a single project of major size and scale. Why Ausenco?
