Associate, Commercial Real Estate Banking

Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures. The Associate is responsible for contributing to the overall success of Real Estate Banking by meeting team financial and non-financial metrics and supporting the Director with the management of a portfolio of accounts. What you will do Contribute to team financial objectives that include new loan acceptances, asset, revenue and deposit growth, new customer acquisition, and referrals to other departments within the Bank. Lead non-financial objectives such as customer service, operational effectiveness and personal development. Manage a portfolio of 10–20 borrowing accounts and up to 50 non-borrowing accounts. Provide customized and creative financial solutions to satisfy clients’ needs and deliver a consistent customer service experience. Maintain credit quality and profitability of customer relationships. Monitor all accounts to ensure the Bank’s security position remains within guidelines, all conditions are met, and timely action has been taken on maintenance items such as maturity dates and annual reviews. Prepare credit applications, annual reviews and client communication for income property lending on multi‑unit residential and commercial properties, and construction financing to builders and developers. Prepare concise credit presentations that are structured in accordance with Bank standards and completed promptly. Perform due diligence to identify and verify critical risks and material facts required for sound credit decisions. Assess risk by evaluating project strengths, major issues, proponent experience and yield, and cash flow/asset cover, including alternate sources of repayment. Support business development activities by identifying new opportunities, researching and conducting sales calls and site visits, monitoring customer needs, and cross‑selling Bank services. Identify and refer sales opportunities to other Bank departments such as Global Banking and Payments, Private Banking, Commercial and Retail Banking, and Global Banking and Markets. Assist the Director and Group Lead in maintaining an ongoing pipeline of business, including customers and active prospects. Skills & Qualifications Strong interpersonal and communication skills, able to articulate views both within and outside the Bank. Customer‑focused mindset to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge. Ability to evaluate risk thoroughly and consider strengths, major issues, proponent experience and financial metrics. Comfortable with standard office environment and some travel to client premises and site visits. Valid driver’s license and vehicle required. What's in it for you?
