Senior Project Accountant Dream is looking for a Senior Project Accountant to take charge of the full accounting cycle and ad‑hoc projects for several of our diverse and exciting Western Canada development projects and investment properties. About You We’re looking for someone passionate, dedicated, highly analytical, and people‑oriented with over 2+ years of real estate accounting experience. Responsibilities Prepare and process cash calls, assist in cash flow analysis, record and reconcile project capital to ensure sufficient project liquidity, and prepare bank reconciliations. Perform monthly calculations, reconciliations and recording of revenues, various fees, interest and commissions for each project. Record journal entries, maintain and reconcile general ledger, job cost and other JDE reports. Work with AP and project cost coordinators to ensure accurate and timely daily/weekly accounts payable processing for projects. Prepare monthly construction draw packages and assess costs incurred to budget. Maintain a working paper file for each project including support for GL balances and actual vs. budget analysis. Perform timely month‑end close and ensure all pertinent transactions, including setting up monthly accruals, are recorded. Comply with internal controls at all times. Assist in preparation of monthly and quarterly financial reporting packages to senior management and external business partners. Provide support to the audit and tax teams, respond to queries. Collaborate with the Finance and Debt teams to ensure accurate and timely reporting of project financials and cash flows. Assist in compliance reporting to lenders, government, partners. Support team members and other departments as required. Qualifications Minimum of 2-3 years of accounting experience; real estate industry experience is a strong asset. Completed or in‑progress CPA designation considered an asset. Highly proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel. Experience with JD Edwards an asset. Self‑starter with ability to anticipate needs, take initiative, plan ahead, and deliver within time frames. Strong skills in task‑prioritization and multitasking. Strong people skills and ability to build relationships at all levels of an organization and with external parties such as vendors, auditors and business partners. Strong written and verbal communication skills demonstrated in reports and meeting participation.
