Role and Job Scope The Associate will report to the Head of Account Management in the Financial Institutions division in Global Transaction Banking. Accountabilities include, but are not limited to: Client‑facing role supporting the origination team providing account and relationship management of existing FI clients. Understand the overall TDS client origination strategy across Markets and Corporate & Investment Banking. Support activities to increase sales revenue by adding new clients and increasing profitability of GTB FI products and services. Attend client pitches with GTB team members and other TDS calling officers. Work closely with Relationship Managers to complete RFPs, pitch decks, briefing notes and call reports. Perform detailed analysis and leverage empirical data for informed decision‑making. Engage regularly with clients to develop and deepen relationships. Support the sales process and relationship build‑out strategy for clients and prospects. Address client escalations promptly, maintaining high service levels. Collaborate with Relationship Managers, Regional Heads, Global Heads, and other TDS partners in all business aspects. Focus on credit and operational risk control and management. Assist in managing/monitoring payment activities to ensure credit lines are not breached and request credit limit increases where needed. Assist in annual and new client KYC reviews, documentation collection, and sign‑off. Ensure accurate monthly billing for fee collection and interest charges. Coordinate with global partners (Investment Banking, Credit Origination, Credit Management, FX, Money Markets, etc.). Maintain positive relationships with Global Operations Banking Services and other GTB teams (Product Management, Compliance, Network Management, etc.). Support onboarding of GTB clients, understanding KYC and AML policies. Manage implementation of new products and services, including legal negotiations. Adhere to GTB credit facilities, liaising with credit and risk management. Continuously learn about new and innovative GTB products and services. Maintain full understanding of bank AML policies and procedures. Mentor and train junior team members. Job Requirements Excellent communication and business/finance analysis skills, or relevant experience. Experience/knowledge of Global Transaction Banking businesses. High EQ. Strong work ethic, commitment to business goals, and high professional standards. Effective in independent and team environments. Self‑starter with a positive attitude and creative problem‑solver. Effective organizational skills and flexibility for changing priorities. Occasional non‑traditional hours flexibility. A people person who thrives on social interaction. Advanced analytical and data manipulation skills. Sound knowledge of MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Undergraduate or graduate degree with strong academics. Client support experience at the corporate/institutional level is a high interest. Knowledge of Credit administration procedures (CAIRO) is an asset. Knowledge of wire payments, paper clearing, and Canadian Payments settlement system is an asset. Industry experience and accreditations (CFA, CTP, etc.) are highly desirable.
