Reporting to the Director, the Case Manager is responsible for the planning and delivery of Employment Consulting services, matching job seekers to employment opportunities, recruitment of employers to match the needs of job seekers, and facilitation of the application process for the Government-funded training programs. As part of a team, the Case Manager will assist in meeting the strategic achievement of all desired outcomes and targets. The Case Manager will assist in monitoring job placement subsidies, and collecting documentation in order to process payments for employers.Some of the tasks of this position include:Conducting full needs assessments of clients.Providing employment consultation to clients and maintaining and developing action plans for job searches.Assessing and assisting clients in achieving their employment goals through identifying and following up on action plans.Preparing clients for employment through the facilitation of life skills, job search, pre-employment and job maintenance workshops.Advocating on behalf of clients to community employers, services and programs that will move them closer to their employment goals.Consulting with team members and community partners to find employment opportunities and monitor progress in the work environment.Providing one year of job retention support to employed participants.Preparing all statistical and required reports and appropriate file documentation across multiple data bases.What qualifications and abilities are we looking for?At the YMCA of the National Capital Region, we strive to ensure our employees are a fit based on their strengths, interests, and future goals.The successful candidate will have the following:EducationPost‑secondary education or equivalent in Employment Counselling, Social Service Work, Social Work, or a related fieldLanguageFluent in English, oral and writtenOther languages are an assetExperience, Skills and AbilitiesRelated experience might include: Recruitment, Training, HR Certification, Common Assessment Training, Life Skills Certification, Teaching and Training Adults Certification, Drug and Alcohol CounsellingExperience in employment counselling and job development/matchingExperience with case management and data entryIntermediate computer skills (use of databases, Microsoft Suite)High level of interpersonal oral and written communication skillsSuperior problem solving and creative skillsAbility to work with adult and youth clients with diverse backgrounds and skill levelsAbility to work with community partners and build and maintain relationshipsAdditional Requirements:Applicants must already have a valid permit to work in Canada.A Police Record check, not more than 6 months old is required.
