Reporting to a Construction Manager, the Project Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing construction projects from initiation to completion. The Project Manager will work directly with clients and various departments within the company to ensure a project is delivered on time and within budget. The Project Manager is responsible for leading project teams for one or more projects while managing all aspects of the project life cycle ensuring required performance deliveries or quality, cost, and schedules are achieved. The Project Manager will work closely with project teams, contractors, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.Come be a part of our growing team and experience the satisfaction of “Transforming Visions into Buildings”.Key ResponsibilitiesProject Planning: Responsible for all aspects of the project.Develop comprehensive project plans outlining scope, objectives, timelines, and resource requirements.Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies.Create and manage project budgets, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.Establish and maintain excellent relationships with owners, architects, consultants, trades & public, while promoting Buttcon’s services and ensuring client satisfaction.Ensure compliance with Buttcon’s Health and Safety Program, provide key leadership, set examples, and ensure safety minutes are provided.Ensure compliance with Buttcon’s Policy & Procedures Manual.Supervise, mentor, coach, and train project personnel.Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the terms of contract documents.Ensure that all permits, insurance, and bonding are in place.Assist in the tendering and award of trade contracts.Team CoordinationAssemble project teams, including architects, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors.Delegate tasks and responsibilities to team members, ensuring clear communication of project goals and expectations.Foster collaboration and communication among team members to ensure smooth project execution.Manage and resolve contractual and technical issues with consultants and trades.Construction OversightMonitor construction activities to ensure they are on schedule and in compliance with design specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations.Conduct regular site visits to assess progress, address issues, and provide guidance to the project team.Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.Process shop drawings/ samples.Ensure submittal log and RFI logs are prepared and implemented.Conduct regular site reviews and meetings; ensure that minutes are distributed accordingly.Deal with all day-to-day correspondence and ensure that the job site receives all correspondence in a timely manner.Budget & Cost ManagementDevelop and manage project budget, tracking expenses, and ensuring cost control measures are in place.Review and approve project related expenses, invoices, and change orders.Identify potential cost saving opportunities without compromising project quality.Manage the Change Order process.Manage and resolve contractual and technical issues with consultants and trades.Prepare and present monthly Project Cost ReportsPrepare a cash-flow and update it as required.Prepare monthly progress billings and monitor receipt of payment certificates.Review and authorize sub-trade and material payments and ensure accurate cost coding.Ensure that sub-trade/supplier’s accounts are reconciled.Identify potential project risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.Implement proactive measures to address unforeseen challenges that may arise during the construction process.Maintain a comprehensive understanding of local regulations, building codes, and safety standards.Communication & ReportingProvide regular updates to stakeholders, including clients, senior management, and relevant regulatory authorities.Generate detailed progress reports, including financial summaries, timelines, and project milestones.Quality ControlEnsure construction work meets established quality standards and adheres to approved design plans.Implement and enforce quality control procedures and inspections to prevent defects and deviations.What You’ll Bring to the TeamStrong leadership and interpersonal skills.Strong knowledge of ICI construction delivery methods, regulations, and best practices.Excellent verbal and written communication.Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail.Capacity to manage multiple priorities and tight deadlines.Financial and contractual acumen.Ability to successfully manage construction projects.Able to manage and inspire staff and to be an ambassador of the company.Strong analytical thinking and practical problem-solving abilities.Qualification RequirementsPost-secondary education in Construction Management, Civil/Architectural Engineering, or related field.Minimum 10 years of experience in the ICI construction industry.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Project.Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction, estimating, budgeting, scheduling, cost control, contract administration, technology, equipment, means and methods and general industry practices.Strong understanding and adherence to safety standards.Proficiency in project management software and tools.Ability to analyze and interpret technical drawings and specifications.Familiarity with relevant building codes, regulations, and safety standards.Experience with Procore, BIM, Primavera P6, and Axis Accounting Software is an asset.LEED, Net Zero, WELL, or Passive House accreditation is an asset.Gold Seal Certification is an asset.Working ConditionsWork takes place in both the head office and active construction sites.Exposure to job site conditions and varying weather.Travel to project sites required.Here’s What You’ll LoveThe opportunity to work with a growing company that works on diverse projects while using advanced software technologyCareer development and training tailored to youA work environment that cares about their employees and is inclusive and welcoming to allWhile we thank all applicants, only those under consideration for the position will be contacted.
