The Legal department plays an important role in the development of this strategy. Supporting business groups on legal, risk and strategic issues, the department is now seeking a senior legal counsel to provide corporate / commercial contracting support to various lines of business including Loblaw Digital, Loblaw Technology, Loyalty and Loblaw Media. Working closely with these groups, this counsel will negotiate, draft, and advise on a wide range of commercial contracts and issues including technology and privacy, and participate in projects related to the development of new and innovative products and services. In addition, you will manage a small team of talented, motivated counsel. Responsibilities: Negotiate, draft, and advise on commercial contracts; support digital and e‑commerce initiatives; lead a small legal counsel team; collaborate with business groups on legal, risk, and strategic issues; participate in product development projects; Qualifications: Minimum 7 years of commercial and general corporate experience from a major firm or corporation; experience supporting digital, e‑commerce, and emerging technologies is an asset; French language skills are an asset; excellent strategizing, negotiation, drafting, time management, and interpersonal skills; ability to develop relationships across all levels; leadership and managerial skills; Loblaw is committed to being socially responsible by respecting the environment, sourcing with integrity, and making a positive difference in its communities.
