Principal Mechanical Layout Designer

Our team in Canada is growing; we are currently recruiting for a Principal Mechanical Layout Designer with experience in the mining industry to join the Team at our Vancouver or Calgary Office. About the role Prepare mechanical layouts: study level and execution level drawings in line with project requirements Development of mechanical layouts in a 3D environment. Produce layout relevant deliverables such as site layouts, general arrangements and detailed drawings. Deliver design drawings according to project-specific design criteria as well as the defined regulations, codes, and standards. Maintain consistent design drafting standards across projects by communicating expectations and holding project members to account for standards. Support proposal managers in providing input into the proposal and estimates. Facilitate and ensure interdisciplinary co‑ordination when developing layouts or models. Comply with all Ausenco corporate policies and procedures by adopting Ausenco Quality Assurance and Occupational Health, Safety, and Environment policies, procedures and requirements. Qualifications Advanced diploma or equivalent in mechanical engineering technology 12+ years of experience in Mechanical design drafting; Experience in Mechanical design and layout of Mineral Processing Plants within a large project, multidisciplinary EPC/EPCM environment Proficiency in 3D modeling and 2d drafting Prepare and design plant models Well‑developed written and oral communication skills.
