About the RoleButterfield & Robinson’s continued success depends upon the development and implementation of successful Industry Relationships. The Director, Industry Partners is responsible for pursuing revenue-generating opportunities with highly valued existing and new travel industry partners, new markets, and technology-based revenue channels. As the world’s premier active travel company, Butterfield & Robinson designs and runs immersive, inspiring, and unforgettable journeys, and the Director of Industry Partners will develop and deliver on plans to engage with industry partners to meet company revenue targets and implement solutions to continuously improve valuable relationships.ResponsibilitiesRepresent the B&R brand to the travel agent community.Manage key relationships with existing industry partners and identify and develop productive relationships with new industry partners.Plan and execute promotional events related to travel agents.Educate the travel agent community with a goal of increasing new qualified leads and enhancing existing traveller relationships.Support company visibility and brand strength through participation at trade events and other special events.Negotiate and execute all industry partner and travel consortia initiatives and related agreements.Manage and execute agent specific co‑marketing efforts.Plan, market, sell and host agent specific fam trips.Pursue new technology‑based distribution and revenue channels.Pursue opportunities to bring B&R to new geographic markets.Track all above efforts for effectiveness and ROI.Help develop overall company strategy and annual goals and objectives as part of strategic planning and budgeting cycles.Share your energy, enthusiasm, insight, skills and experience with the B&R community.QualificationsRelevant experience as sales leader in the luxury travel industry.In depth knowledge of and deep‑rooted relationships with travel industry partners.Development and implementation of strategic sales plans for growing businesses, with a strong understanding of sales analytics.Experience in the active travel industry is an asset.Experience planning, promoting and hosting industry fam trips.Experience successfully managing the performance of individuals and a team in a sales environment is an asset.Desired Skills and CharacteristicsA passion for innovative travel and extraordinary customer service.An entrepreneurial spirit with the ability to work independently.Sharp with numbers, with an analytical mindset.Excellent organizational and multi‑tasking skills.Ability to collaborate with others to refine a vision, and deliver it clearly.A team player with high level of dedication to the team who is always willing to muck in.Meticulous attention to detail in all areas of work.Ability to inspire and deliver great results.Proficiency in MS Suite of tools, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.Equal Opportunity StatementButterfield & Robinson is an equal opportunity employer committed to creating a diverse and inclusive environment.
