We have over 200 offices across Canada, ask us about our flexible work arrangements***About the role**We have an exciting opportunity to join our National Underwriting MGA, Risk-Can as a Commercial Underwriter.If you have previous commercial underwriting experience and are looking to broaden your skills in a department which handles complex risks, this is the opportunity for you This role offers a hybrid working model. **What you'll do here:*** Underwrite various commercial lines submissions with the intent to offer insurance solutions for our brokers within department guidelines and contribute to a profitable portfolio of business* Ensure proper underwriting, pricing, authorizing and documentation of moderate to complex new business submissions* Work within established underwriting authority limits, structured parameters, rating matrices, and defined guidelines given under our contracts* Build strong relationships with our brokers by offering insurance solutions that assist them in their front line sales and customer relationships* Make recommendations to improve the department and increase its efficiency**What you bring to the table:*** Exceptional customer service skills and ability to develop strong relationships with our brokers* Strong negotiation skills and business savvy* Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities, work independently with guidelines and show initiative* Ability to problem-solve and make decisions* Post-Secondary education* 2 – 5 years of commercial P&C underwriting experience* Completion of or working towards a Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation an asset* Above average computer proficiency in – Excel, MS Office, OutlookWe thank all applicants for their interest, but only those selected for an interview will be contacted.This role is a new member of our growing team.*We are an equal opportunity employer**BrokerLink is committed to providing an accessible environment.
