Finance Director

OverviewFinance Director role at Trindent Consulting. Based at our offices in George Street, Toronto and reporting to the President, the Financial Director is accountable for leading all aspects of an effective and efficient Finance and Accounting function. Trindent Consulting has been recognized as a fast-growing company and is noted for expansion and achievement in industry rankings.ResponsibilitiesLead, manage, and execute the financial planning, forecasting, budgeting processes and variance analysis.Prepare financial statement variance analysis and present to senior management.Produce monthly financial statements, develop financial management strategies, monitor expenditures and cash flows.Establish and oversee financial controls to monitor the accuracy of financial information, reports and workflows.Liaise with external and internal stakeholders to create full financial transparency and recommend appropriate actions when results differ from plan.Responsible for all areas of credit analysis and reporting.Accounting OperationsOversee and manage all Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and Payroll functions.Review and update all General Ledger accounts.Prepare monthly journal entries with supporting documentation for journal entries and general ledger balances.Ensure timely monthly, quarterly, and annual closings.Manage all government reporting and remittance obligations.Manage the vendor contract process.Reporting and Tax ComplianceComply with local, provincial, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings (Canada & US).Ensure the preparation and filing of mandatory government reporting deadlines (e.g., Corporate, sales and payroll taxes).Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting for internal and external purposes (consolidated and non-consolidated).Analyze and interpret financial and operating metrics.Business DevelopmentStreamline accounting and financial operations.Establish, monitor, and enforce risk control policies, procedures, and internal controls.Implement process improvements to maximize business savings and quality controls.Participate in business decisions to support development of business objectives.QualificationsChartered Professional Accountant designation (CPA) is requiredBachelor’s degree in a relevant field is requiredMinimum 8-10 years of Accounting and Financial Planning and Analysis experience, including managing a team or a departmentSuperior working knowledge of accounting practices as applied to consolidated financial and management reporting, cash flow forecasting, financial statement analysis and interpretationExperience with U.S subsidiaries, transfer pricing and US payroll reporting requirementsStrong communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate across all levels / departments within the organizationExcellent organizational skills and ability to establish priorities in a fast-paced environmentStrong knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel, with ability to handle large data setsStrong analytical skills with numbers and accuracy in reviewsStrong problem-solving ability and day-to-day decision-makingExperience in a consulting firm or professional services environment is an assetAccessibility and accommodationsTrindent Consulting is committed to providing an accessible, respectful and inclusive environment for all employees and job applicants.
