Overview This position will work in partnership with the four W’SANEC Health Directors and their respective communities, advocating for communities and implementing comprehensive accountability measures. The role is part of a larger on‑reserve team that includes Nurse Practitioners, Primary Care Nurses, Mental Health and Addictions Counsellors, and Indigenous Wellness Supports, all within the Saanich Peninsula Primary Care Network. The position will start at Tsawout First Nation and transition to the WSANEC clinic (1210 Totem Ln, North Saanich, BC V8L 5S4) when ready. Utilizing a hub and spoke model, providers will offer services in the other three W’SANEC communities. Responsibilities Provide comprehensive primary care to First Nations communities. Implement and oversee accountability measures with health directors. Collaborate with the larger Saanich Peninsula Primary Care Network for additional resources. Initiate, follow‑up and stabilize Opioid Agonist Treatment (OAT) for patients, working with MHSU, primary care providers, Emergency Department, and community services. Preferred Experience Experience working with First Nations communities, including commitment to Indigenous cultural safety, anti‑racist practice, trauma‑informed care, knowledge of Indigenous worldviews, and a relational approach to health care provision. After‑hours Expectation Opioid Agonist Treatment (OAT) for patients, including initiation, follow‑up, and stabilization. Collaborative monitoring with MHSU, other primary care providers, the Saanich Peninsula Emergency Department, and community services. Community Information Located in Central Saanich, Saanichton offers a mix of suburban and rural communities with close proximity to Victoria.
