OverviewJob Opportunity: Timber CruiserEmployment Type: Full time, PermanentLocation: Prince George, BCCompensation: $23/hr - $30/hrCome Grow with Us Forsite is hiring for a Timber Cruiser based out of Prince George, BC.ResponsibilitiesThe Timber Cruiser is responsible for forest development activities including the development of cruise plans, operational timber cruising, quality control, data summary, the development of final cruise maps, and the compilation of cruise data and deliverables. This is a field focused position, but some office work will be required. Work in other phases of timber development should be anticipated.Qualifications and CompetenciesA safety conscious attitudeA minimum of 1 year filling the role of a head timber cruiser in British ColumbiaA thorough understanding of British Columbia Timber Cruising ManualValid driver’s license with a clean abstract is a mustATC or ATE accreditation or working towards becoming an ATC or ATE is preferredRegistration with the FPBC (or eligible for registration) as a professional forester (RPF) and/or forest technologist (RFT) will be considered as an assetThe participate in previous Northern Interior Cruising Committee and/or Southern Interior Timber Cruising Association workshops will be considered an assetExperience with helicopter access will be considered an assetExperience in supervising, mentoring, and coaching technical assistantsWho You AreTeam oriented professional with a friendly and courteous mannerA strong verbal and written communicatorA problem solver with excellent analytical and critical-thinking skillsAn independent person able to work under limited direct supervision as well as in a dynamic team environmentComfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions and seasonsLocationPrince George, located in central British Columbia, is the largest city in the province’s north and known as its "Northern Capital."
