Our Ideal Candidate MCLC is looking for an energetic associate with at least two-years (2+) of experience to join our busy and growing practice. You will be working with our driven team of one senior lawyer, one intermediate lawyer, a legal assistant and other support staff. Skills Required Confidence when communicating with clients, experts and in performing their work Perseverance in the face of complex and/or novel legal issues and willingness to work through them Comfortable working both independently, including taking full conduct of files, and closely with other team members as required Superior writing, research and communication skills Exceptional attention to detail More About What We Do Strata law is interconnected with many other areas of law, including property, corporate governance, elder law, human rights, administrative law, privacy, employment, collections and more. At MCLC, we perform barrister’s and solicitor’s work for strata corporations and individual owners in both established and emerging areas of law that impact our clients. MCLC's litigation practice includes litigating matters in the BC Court of Appeal, Supreme Court of British Columbia, and Small Claims Court, and assisting clients with matters heard before provincial tribunals, including the Civil Resolution Tribunal and the Human Rights Tribunal. Typical solicitor's work at MCLC includes drafting bylaws for strata corporations and preparing opinions on a wide variety of topics including easements, alterations and strata corporation governance. We regularly give back to the community by providing education to related professionals and members of the public.
