OverviewPermit Archaeologist / Crew LeadEmber Archaeology, a Division of Tree Time Services, is looking for a Permit Archaeologist or Permit Archaeologist in training to support our Projects.ResponsibilitiesLeading survey crews on large projects under the close direction of the Project Archaeologist / Permit HolderActing as an assistant / senior hand on mitigative excavationsContributing to artifact analysis and permit reportingRequirementsMaster’s Degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, or a related disciplineTwo field seasons (12 months) Cultural Resource Management experienceClass 5 driver's license with clean driver’s abstractPhysically fit, able to carry 30 pounds, lift 50 lbs, and hike up to 10 km per dayDesired Experience and SkillsCurrent Permit Status in AlbertaAbility to collect standardized data efficientlyAbility to follow direction and receive feedbackLove of the outdoorsATV operation experience4x4 driving experienceGood sense of direction, GPS, compass & map navigation skillsValid safety tickets, including First AidH2S AliveATV operatorGround DisturbanceBear / Wildlife AwarenessConditionsWork outdoors in all weather conditionsWork 10 to 12 hour days on a 10-on, 4-off scheduleWork away from home up to 24 days if requiredLodgings in hotels, work camps, and camper trailers as requiredCompensationNegotiable based on experience and qualificationsFull Time 40 hrs/week55$ per diem during fieldworkFlex-timeHealth BenefitsBenefitsClose-knit team who care about and learn from each otherStrong safety culture and track recordCommitment to doing good workFocus on continuous learning and professional developmentOpportunities to take on challenging work and try new thingsManagement tries hard to support work-life balanceEmber’s head office is in Edmonton and most of our work is in northern Alberta, but we’ve had people work remotely from Terrace BC to St. John’s Newfoundland.We’re working to expand our reach and eager to explore satellite office opportunities.Upload a one to two page resume in PDF format.
