We aim to be fully reliant on clean energy.OverviewCorner Brook Pulp and Paper is currently looking for a candidate for the position of Power Engineer working in the Steam Plant. Power Engineers are responsible for the safe operation of high pressure boiler and auxiliaries including pumps, compressors, etc. Responsible to check and maintain demineralized water treatment system, and the safe startup and operation of a 17 MW Siemens Turbo generator.Primary duties include the following:Previous experience working in a 1 st class plant is considered an assetKnowledge of safe plant operationsAbility to work in a fast paced environment and changing prioritiesPrevious experience in a production environment is also an asset .Willingness to work at tasks outside the Steam Plant as required starting out, including labour work, etc.QualificationsThe successful candidate must have:As a minimum, candidates will have a 3 rd Class Power Engineering Ticket, but preference will be given to someone working toward their 2 nd class ticketPrevious experience working in an industrial environment is an assetStrong commitment to Health and SafetyAbility to work in a fast paced environment and changing prioritiesAbility to work short notice and after hour callsAll applicants should possess a grade 12 diploma or equivalent in addition to their power engineering certificateAll applicants will have recent Workplace Hazardous Material Information System (WHMIS) training and possess Standard First Aid CertificationApplicant must provide proof of all relevant qualifications and be available to participate in a pre-employment testing procedureWhy work at Kruger?At Kruger, we believe in giving our employees the space to grow, within a dynamic and stimulating environment, nurturing their development, encouraging their involvement, and enriching their professional lives.
