Being a Caregiver could be perfect for you. As a Caregiver, you will assist clients with their day-to-day activities so that they can continue living independently at home or in a care facility setting. This would entail: Providing companionshipTaking clients for outings or exercisePerforming basic meal preparationPerforming light housekeeping duties such as washing dishes, taking out the garbage, doing the patient’s laundry, vacuuming, and dustingProviding respite while the primary caregiver is out of the homeTaking clients to appointments Qualifications Supportive Care Worker Certificate, Health Care Aide Certificate or completion of Term 1 of a PSW programValid Vulnerable Sector Police CheckTuberculosis within 6 monthsCurrent CPR and First Aid CertificateEffective English communication skills, written and verbalPhysical ability to stand, bend, walk, crouch, kneel and reach, ability to lift 50lbs (23 kg) independently, ability to assist clients with standing, walking, sitting; able to reposition clients in bedAbility to interact with others in a caring, tactful and courteous mannerAbility to use phone applicationsValid driver's license and access to a reliable car Requirements Vulnerable Sector Check completed within the last six monthsSubmission of proof of three COVID vaccinationsTB test completed within 6 months to a yearImmunization recordUp-to-date CPR and First Aid certification About Foundation Health Foundation Health is a patient-focused healthcare company specializing in family medicine, allied health, home care, self-testing products ranging from pregnancy and fertility to COVID-19 and flu, and virtual care.
