To support our growth, we are hiring a Lead Energy Consultant to work in our Energy Analytics practice. You will contribute to the development of innovative, accurate, timely, and high-quality products and services, typically working on multiple projects with all levels of staff. The Energy Analytics team is a leader in utility and government energy transition planning, program design, and demand side management (DSM) program implementation analytics. Engineers advance in our practice and develop an area of special competence, with increasing responsibility for project management and client contact in their area of competence.Why you will love working hereQuality of life: Flexible workplace arrangements, work-life balanceInvestment of the community: Donation matching, volunteer opportunitiesInvestment in you: Tuition reimbursement, access to professional development resources, 401k matching, Employee Stock Purchase PlanAnd many, many more (Ask your recruiter for more details)What you will be doingAssist with energy efficiency, electrification, distributed energy resources, and decarbonization potential studies, program planning, advisory research and support, preparation of fillings and other regulatory support for US and Canadian utilities and/or government agencies.Assist with developing and designing innovative program strategiesConduct market research on various energy efficiency technologies including measure adoption, saturation, feasibility, etc.Advanced energy saving calculations and economic analyses for the residential and commercial sectors supporting utility programsOversee market research and development of industry expertise on innovative technologiesAssist with business development activities including writing proposalsAssist with the evaluation and benchmarking of program performanceManage and analyze large datasets using advanced Excel functionsPrepare and present persuasive presentations and reportsCo-author reports and other client deliverables, journal articles, white papers and marketing piecesWhat we need you to have (minimum qualifications)Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field, with demonstrated interest and in sustainability, building energy efficiency, building science, and/or renewables8+ year of related energy industry experience, including experience in energy consulting, energy management, building science, DSM program potential studies, regulatory support, DSM program design, and/or program implementationWhat we would like you to haveStrong quantitative and analytical skills, including the ability to identify, collect and analyze dataStrong writing and communication skills, ensuring clear expression of ideas and effectively providing information to stakeholdersIn depth understanding of energy efficiency technologies, economic valuation (NPV, IRR, etc.), and utility cost-effectiveness testsKnowledge of energy policy and regulation, especially related to DSM and other distributed energy resourcesTeam player with the ability to work in a fast-paced environmentGraduate degree in engineering, specializing in sustainability, building science, and/or energy policyExperience and knowledge of renewables, US and Canadian energy codes (IECC, ASHRAE), energy storage systems and/or CHP, energy modeling (OpenStudio, EnergyPlus, etc), and/or energy saving calculation methodsUnderstanding of building science, building construction methods, and building energy saving calculationsExperience in regulatory and public stakeholder processesDemonstrated experience with project and resource managementDemonstrated experience with business development and nurturing client relationshipsWorking at ICFICF is a global advisory and technology services provider, but we’re not your typical consultants.
