The Sleep Technologist prepares the patients for monitoring, obtains and documents the patients’ history and educates the patients on sleep testing, sleep disorders, and relevant treatments. During data acquisition, the Sleep Technologist monitors the collection of data to ensure proper quality and addresses any technical issues. The Sleep Technologist constantly assesses and adjusts any therapy applied to the patients. The Sleep Technologist is also responsible for tending to the patients’ needs. They will document qualitative observations throughout the collection and create summary reports. The Sleep Technologist analyzes (scores) the data acquired during the collection and composes a quantitative report for the Sleep Specialist to interpret.For this specific vacancy, we are seeking a technologist who can also perform clinical Electroencephalography (EEG) studies. The EEG Technologist must recognize normal and abnormal patterns in wake and sleep for neonatal, paediatric and adult patients and help complete additional clinics and provide assistance with coverage for the full-time EEG Technologist.
