Position Summary The Research Associate will report to Principal Investigator (PI), Dr. Alexandre Lehmann, a cognitive neuroscientist and Associate Professor at McGill University. The incumbent will be involved in the development and implementation of research studies, writing of reports, academic papers, grant applications, and presentations, as well as other administrative duties. General Duties Under the direction of the immediate supervisor, the incumbent actively participates in the execution of the research projects ongoing in the laboratory. Is responsible for various administrative tasks (including budgets, meeting management, focus groups, minute-taking, and grant/protocol writing). Supports and supervises lab members with their research projects. Provides training to new recruits, students, and staff. Establishes research methods, designs protocols, advances research, and breaks new ground. Troubleshoots research issues and resolves problems in design. Develops models and runs simulations. Reviews and evaluates research findings, prepares reports and manuscripts. Participates in local, national, and international collaborations. Participates in group meetings and in the general day‑to‑day management of Dr. Lehmann research projects. Accomplishes any other related tasks as required by the immediate supervisor. Education / Experience Doctorate Degree in Neuroscience (PhD). Minimum 5 years of post‑doctoral or research associate experience. Required Skills Expertise in signal processing, data mining, machine learning, MATLAB, Python, data analysis, statistics, psychoacoustics, and biomedical signal acquisition. Experience in audiology or speech & language pathology. Knowledge of ethical conduct for research involving humans – TCPS 2. Prior experience as a post‑doctoral researcher, research assistant, or research associate. Experience working in a hospital setting (e.g., OACIS, Nagano). Project coordination and management experience. Data analysis and statistics experience. Solid scientific writing skills (peer‑review publications and grant applications). Team player with excellent organizational, autonomous, and problem‑solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in both French and English. Ability to work independently or with teams with minimal supervision. Additional information Status: Temporary, full time (35‑hour workweek). Pay Scale: $54,327.00 – $100,882.60.
