(MEMS) is committed to implementing a robust Health, Safety & Environment Program (HSE Program). This office position requires travel between MEMS offices and work sites (approximately 25% of the time) and may be based out of our Guelph, ON, or Saskatoon, SK, offices.Key ResponsibilitiesPromote a safety culture by assisting in the progression of the MEMS safety program with a focus on prevention and continual improvement.Maintain comprehensive knowledge of relevant occupational health and safety legislation, regulatory requirements, professional standards, and best practices.Understand contractor roles and responsibilities on projects, including evaluation of contractors’ safety programs.Coach and guide employees on MEMS HSE management system, health and safety programs, processes, and OHS legislation, providing onsite field presence for constructive feedback through coaching and mentoring.Collaborate with MEMS employees to anticipate, identify, evaluate, and determine practical solutions to health and safety risks and issues.Develop and deliver health and safety presentations and training.Assist project teams with the development of project HSE plans in accordance with MEMS HSE program and client requirements.Review and approve contractor’s safety management systems prior to work commencing.Support event management and response, including responding to after-hours safety events when scheduled.Conduct safety inspections in the field and coordinate quarterly office safety inspections.Conduct safety event investigations focused on prevention, root cause analysis, and injury reduction.Execute health and safety projects/initiatives, as required.Education, Experience And RequirementsCompletion of National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) or post‑secondary certificate in Occupational Health and Safety is required. Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) is considered an asset.Thorough knowledge of Provincial OHS legislation and its application to work sites.A minimum of five years of experience in safety management, preferably in a consulting environment.Must be able to meet the requirements of site access as dictated by our clients, which may include pre‑access drug, alcohol and fitness testing.Possess a valid, non‑GDL Class 5 Drivers license.Other Knowledge And SkillsIncident investigation methodologies (e.g., Bowtie, 5 Whys, TapRooT).Exceptional and persuasive oral and written communication skills.Strong computer skills with knowledge of Windows applications, including Word and Excel.Proven experience in development and delivery of safety training.Strong interpersonal skills and effective team player.Detail‑oriented and exceptional creative thinking skills.Highly motivated energetic individual.Ability to successfully provide Health and Safety leadership to all aspects of our projects and operations.Working ConditionsField safety inspections may include travel in adverse road conditions.Office environment that requires sitting for extended periods of time with prolonged exposure to computer keyboards and computer screens.May require long hours of work. Occasional interruptions outside work hours and travel to other locations are required.Ability to work varying shifts to support MEMS 24‑hour event management, as needed or required.Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals.Required to walk, stand, climb, bend forward, kneel down, crawl, reach and grasp, push and pull objects, lift and/or move up to 30 kg, sometimes over the shoulders, repetitive bending and lifting of items, along with repetitive arm movements.About MEMSMillennium EMS Solutions Ltd.
