Job Opening:Lycopodium is currently recruiting for a Principal Process Engineer to join our growing Process team in Mississauga, Ontario. Reporting to the Manager of Process, the Principal Process Engineer will be responsible for the delivery of accurate, professional, and compliant process study and design deliverables using Company-approved systems and procedures to agreed schedules.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare process deliverables including, but not limited to: mass balances, flowsheets, P&IDs, design criteria, operating costs, and control philosophy of Gold and Copper projects.
- Supervise metallurgical test work programs and interpret metallurgical test work data for Lithium Projects.
- Evaluate tenders and provide technical recommendations for the purchase of process equipment from vendors where necessary during studies and design.
- Ensure all relevant stakeholders are notified immediately of any risk or changes to process deliverables.
- Maintain an understanding of the latest process developments in the Industry.
- Register and file all relevant project documentation in accordance with Company-approved procedures.
- Work in conjunction with a range of internal and external stakeholders to meet project design criteria and deliverables.
- Contribute to the development of junior process engineers by providing mentoring and feedback continuously.
- Manage multiple tasks and prioritize where necessary to achieve agreed deliverables to a high level of accuracy and professionalism.
- Assist with the development of proposals for test work, studies, and detailed engineering.
- Assist with commissioning activities, if and when required.
- Proactively support other team members as required to ensure Project deliverables are met.
- Travel on an ad-hoc basis to suit the needs of the business and its operations.
University Degree in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, or equivalent qualification. Minimum 5 years post-graduate experience in Lithium processing.
