OverviewOTR Tire Technician – Location - Mt Miligan, BC & Blackwater, BCWould you like to join Kal Tire’s Mining Tire Group team in Mt Miligan, BC & Blackwater, BC as an OTR Tire Technician? In this role, you will be responsible for all aspects of tire and related service and repair for mining tires, adhering to Kal Tire’s work and safety standards. As an OTR Tire Technician, you will set the standard for service excellence within the mining tire industry and demonstrate Kal Tire’s commitment to quality and safety.Key Highlights of this RoleYou will perform tire service and maintenance for mining vehicles, including dismounting, mounting, balancing, and repairing tires, ensuring they meet safety and load requirements.You will operate heavy-duty tire servicing equipment and tools, demonstrating expertise in maintaining and repairing mining tire equipment.You will work in close collaboration with mine maintenance staff, ensuring operational efficiency while adhering to Kal Tire’s safety protocols.You will ensure tire inspections and maintenance programs are consistently performed on-site, maintaining the highest service standards.Why Kal Tire?Competitive pay starting at $37.02 - $47.03 per hour, with opportunities for career advancement and wage increases over time.Access to medical, dental, and vision benefits, plus an Employee Assistance Program.Participate in RRSP programs with matching Profit Sharing (DPSP).Enjoy discounts on tires, services, and more through our team member discount program.A strong focus on training and development, with opportunities to enhance your skills in the mining tire industry.Day-to-Day ResponsibilitiesPerform dismounting, mounting, balancing, and repairing of tires for mining vehicles.Ensure tires are mounted and repaired safely, following load requirements and safety standards.Conduct tire inspections, equipment checks, and maintenance tasks.Assist mine maintenance staff as required, supporting their operations with timely tire services.Maintain an orderly and safe work environment, ensuring that tire service equipment and tools are properly maintained.Assist in maintaining stock for tire-related equipment and ensure the warehouse is clean and organized.Health, Safety & EnvironmentComply with all site safety regulations and hygiene standards.Report hazards and unsafe conditions to your Supervisor or Lead Hand.Always use and maintain Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and follow safety protocols.Participate in safety meetings and contribute to improving safety practices on site.Qualifications and SuccessAt least two years of experience as a tire technician in a related field, preferably within the mining sector.Experience with Komatsu haul trucks and Giant loaders with protection chains is highly preferred.Ability to operate and maintain tire manipulators, forklifts, and service trucks.Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to perform tasks with minimal supervision.Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.Ability to lift heavy loads and perform physical tasks safely in a mining environment.Special RequirementsA valid driver’s license and the ability to comply with relevant insurance policies.Secondary school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications and training are preferred.Our Inclusive CultureAt Kal Tire, we\'re dedicated to creating a workplace where everyone feels valued, included, and empowered to succeed.
