Join Ontario Power Generation as a Senior Artificial Intelligence (AI) Developer at Oshawa, ON. This full‑time, hybrid role leverages cutting‑edge AI to optimize the secure economic operation and commercialization of OPG’s power generation assets. Job Overview Reporting to the Senior Manager, Data and Artificial Intelligence, you will provide leadership and technical specialist support for the design and life cycle management of AI systems. You will manage initiatives, provide technical direction, set user requirements, design systems, develop software, integrate systems, conduct research, and deliver training to harness OPG’s vast data resources. Key Accountabilities Lead cross‑functional teams to drive AI project execution, translating business requirements into technical specifications and aligning with objectives through Agile/Scrum. Architect and design AI solutions from inception to deployment, managing the lifecycle of advanced AI/ML models. Support the development of AI governance frameworks, advocating for responsible AI, risk management, and best practices. Champion AI communication and education initiatives, fostering a culture of AI adoption and continuous learning. Apply expertise in data science methods, including large language models, reinforcement learning, deep learning, and optimization. Train, deploy, and manage AI/ML models such as logistic regression, decision trees, clustering, Bayesian networks, and generative AI techniques (RAG, fine‑tuning, prompt engineering). Apply best practices in software engineering, including CI/CD, version control, test‑driven development, and MLOps/DevOps. Implement MLOps practices for end‑to‑end pipelines and production deployment. Mentor junior team members and participate in code and architecture reviews. Conduct data cleansing and quality management, performing feasibility studies to ensure data suitability for AI/ML solutions. Qualifications Mandatory 4‑year university degree in Computer Science or related program in Data, AI, or ML. Over 4 years of experience in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and statistical modelling (up to 6 years). Proven experience delivering data science products in Python, including major libraries and tooling. Familiarity with Software Engineering and MLOps best practices, and version control software such as Git. Experience communicating business value from data science projects to non‑technical stakeholders. Experience building and managing data pipelines for large‑dataset preprocessing and cleaning in Spark. (Nice‑to‑have) Experience with Azure cloud and Databricks environments.
