Job Description:

In the role of Data Engineering Practice Lead, you will lead a team of data engineers in delivering high-quality, mission-critical data platforms for stakeholders. Your responsibilities will include designing, building, and maintaining scalable and reliable data pipelines, models, and warehouses using Azure Data Factory, dbt, and Snowflake. You will oversee the entire delivery lifecycle, from planning to deployment and support, collaborating closely with other practice leads, project managers, and stakeholders to ensure alignment with business requirements and best practices.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Lead the data engineering practice and mentor the team.
  2. Design and develop data solutions using Azure Data Factory, dbt, and Snowflake.
  3. Implement data quality, governance, and security measures.
  4. Optimize performance, scalability, and reliability of data solutions.
  5. Manage the full delivery lifecycle.
  6. Maintain Asset Lifecycle Management practices.
  7. Collaborate with other leads, managers, and stakeholders.
  8. Stay updated on trends in data engineering.
Key Stakeholders:
  • Reports to Head of Architecture and Common Platforms.
  • Works with Head of Data to ensure timely data availability.
  • Collaborates with IT practice leads for technical alignment.
  • Works with various business stakeholders and IT leaders.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of data engineering experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Azure Data Factory, dbt, and Snowflake.
  • Proficiency in SQL.
  • Experience in data modeling, warehousing, and quality.
  • Experience in leading data engineering teams and projects.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
