Analyst, Commercial Asset Management – First National Financial LP We are hiring an Analyst, Commercial Asset Management at First National Financial LP. The Opportunity To manage a portfolio of loans to the highest industry standard with team members ensuring all terms of the commitment letter (including all supporting agreements) are performed by the borrower to the benefit of our investors and also responding to any reasonable borrower requests that are consistent with the terms of the commitment or are approved by the investor. How You Will Contribute Responsible to obtain, review and analyze financial information and requirements to ensure loan criteria is valid with no material adverse changes such as rent rolls, operating statements and financial/net worth statements. Thorough knowledge of commercial lending, underwriting and understanding core documents. Ability to review, make sound decisions and recommendations on property insurance renewals, CMHC undertakings, holdbacks and Insurance claims. Manage assigned mortgage portfolio proactively to ensure that all required conditions for commercial mortgages are fulfilled and to satisfaction of investors and CMHC. Thorough knowledge of Mortgage Products and functions within Mortgage Servicing that include but not limited to; document management, payment processing, statements, holdbacks/reserves, insurance and annual financial reviews. Adherence to policy and procedures, service levels and compliance. Assess, review and provide recommendations for mortgage related approvals to senior management and investors on financial findings and/or clients requests. Effectively interface with borrowers, consultants and investors and solicitors with adherence to Service levels and policy standards. Monitoring ongoing progress draws/holdbacks. Ensure mortgage security is valid and legally binding and supporting documents are provided in a timely manner by solicitors. Knowledge of relevant mortgage documentation is required. Able to mentor and lead by example. Excellent time management skills and ability to maintain and handle high volumes. Recommend and provide process improvements in order to build efficiencies. Organizational and problem solving skills and ability to prioritize and multi-task. Complete special projects as assigned by management. Adhere to policies /procedures to ensure AML requirements are met, when applicable. The Experience You Need Advanced MS Office skills with emphasis on Word and Excel. Strong communication skills, written and verbal including confident and assertive telephone manner. Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment. Proven organizational skills and demonstrated ability to prioritize and multi-task. Strong analytical personality. Strong communication skills, verbal & written, with experience in providing excellent customer service. Team player with ability to perform extra duties as assigned. Post secondary education and/or equivalent work experience preferred. 3-5 years of experience in Financial Services, Mortgages, preferably in commercial mortgages. Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Commerce or related required. Relationships External Customers: Clients, Solicitors, Appraisers, Investors, Third Party Vendors, Auditors. Internal Customers: Commercial Origination, Commercial Funding, Commercial Renewals, Commercial Default. Working Environment And Physical Demands Office environment. Periods of high volume with tight timelines. Long periods of stationary position/sitting. Prolonged periods of repetitive movement (i.e., using a keyboard and mouse). Long periods of time in viewing a computer screen. Multi-tasking may include speaking to customers on a telephone call while looking up information on a computer program.
