Mechanical construction estimating drives EllisDon’s pre-construction work, from early budgets to guaranteed maximum price submissions. Review drawings, coordinate scopes, and prepare accurate bids.
As a Mechanical Estimator, you prepare estimates for hard-bid, construction management, design-build, and stipulated price submissions. You assist bidding while building relationships with sub-trades and manufacturing representatives. The work includes organizing quotes, identifying scope gaps, maintaining pricing databases, and supporting successful project buy-outs and subcontract negotiations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare pre-construction estimates and early-stage project budgets
- Submit guaranteed maximum price and stipulated price estimates
- Review drawings and tender documents for scope requirements
- Coordinate scope delineation with multidisciplinary estimators
- Organize quotes and support buy-out and negotiations
Requirements:
- Experience preparing mechanical construction estimates
- Ability to review drawings and tender documents
- Methodical approach to organized, timely estimating
- Ability to identify scope gaps and budget risks
- Ability to maintain labour and material pricing databases
