Description: We are currently seeking a Process Engineer to join our team of skilled professionals at our Granule Site Locations in Ashcroft, BC and Madoc, ON. In this role, the individual will split their time between the Granule Sites. The Process Engineer is a member of the operational management team that is focused on the performance of the manufacturing process with respect to safety, quality, volume, and cost. The Process Engineer is oriented toward continuous improvement through process optimization and innovation. The Process Engineer is expected to demonstrate shop floor leadership while enhancing the professional image of the operational management team through appropriate actions and communication. This position dually reports directly to the Granule Plant Managers.

When you join us, you will be;

  1. Develop, monitor, and execute project plans (Project Management)
  2. Work on safety initiatives around the plant
  3. Drive continuous improvement, identify improvement opportunities, cost savings, quality improvements, productivity, and reliability
  4. Analyze work tasks and develop Standard Operating Procedures, and Visual Work Instructions
  5. Develop systems to measure and categorize yield opportunities
  6. Implement process improvements to reduce the production of waste
  7. Design industrial trials and present proposals to the operational team for approval
  8. Drive progress through a rigorous approach to process standardization by reviewing the process and identifying process parameters that can be locked in place to reduce process variability
  9. Manage preventative maintenance activities to completion and report results/learnings
  10. Develop, monitor and execute project plans (Project Management)
  11. Ensure site compliance with corporate process standards
  12. Support IKO’s safety management systems
  13. Ensure the sites are harmonizing processes and equipment as much as possible
  14. Partner with Reliability Engineer on Plant Reliability processes
  15. Assist with reporting and participate in plant monthly and quarterly Balanced Scorecard (BSC) reviews
  16. Support site documentation for Plant internal Health Safety and Environmental (HSE) audit
  17. Participate in Plant internal Process audit
  18. All other duties as assigned

Our ideal candidate;

  1. Minimum 2-5 years of relevant work experience in Process/Industrial or Mechanical Engineering
  2. Bachelor's Degree in Chemical, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering
  3. Project implementation skills from initial stages to completion
  4. Proven track record of successful projects on schedule and within budget
  5. Experience with continuous improvement initiatives including Lean Manufacturing
  6. Six Sigma certification preferred
  7. Excellent Organizational and Communication skills
  8. Effective planning, prioritizing and time management skills
  9. Ability to mentor/coach Plant Co-Op students
  10. Excellent team player
  11. Proficient in MS Project, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook, AutoCAD/Inventor
  12. Ability to travel up to 30% of the time within Canada
