Cloud Security Engineer

Position Summary Ottawa, Hybrid – Cloud Security Engineer Imperva’s Enterprise Services program drives customer success with proactive monitoring and management that maximizes the value customers get from our products and services. As a Cloud Security Engineer, you will respond to security and system health incidents, provide holistic operational guidance, and troubleshoot configuration within Imperva’s Cloud Application Security platform. You will also see a broad range of activities across cloud application and security domains, from integration tasks (key management and logging) to security response (triage, analysis, remediation) and advanced reporting. You will consult with internal technical and business functions, constantly improving best practices for solutions and services. The role includes occasional paid weekend on‑call rotation (one weekend per quarter). Key Areas of Responsibility Expertise with Imperva Cloud Application Security platform and keeping current on cloud, application, and cybersecurity trends. Provide comprehensive service to customers, including proactive monitoring, configuration, integration assistance, and post‑sales support. Analyze customer security logs, derive patterns, attack information and insights, and recommend system health and security posture improvements. Participate in presentations, Quarterly Business Reviews, and Service Reviews with customers regularly. Take ownership of problems and work with Threat Research, Data Science, and Product teams to deliver actionable intelligence that informs future product enhancements. Keep customer teams updated with ongoing status on onboarding, configuration, tuning, cases, feature requests, and current security trends. Develop and implement troubleshooting tools, processes, and ideas that improve efficiency of Enterprise Services delivery and continually evaluate and enhance proactive monitoring, automation, and reporting initiatives. Minimum Qualifications Minimum of a 4‑year bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or a technology field and at least 5 years of application or network security experience in a technical customer‑facing role OR 2 years’ experience in application or network security and security data analysis with a master’s degree in a technology field and at least 1 year in a Technical Customer‑facing role. Familiarity with Internet Security and Networking Technologies such as TCP/IP, HTTP, SSL/TLS, Proxies, Firewalls, OWASP Top 10, and OWASP Automated Threats to Web Applications. Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills, strong communication (written and verbal), interpersonal skills, teamwork, and customer‑focused orientation. Hands‑on scripting experience in at least one language, such as Python. Affinity for automating redundant tasks, streamlining repetitive processes, and looking for opportunities to scale operations. Preferred Qualifications Hands‑on experience with a SIEM or data analysis tool like Splunk, Tableau, Graylog, etc. Proficiency with Python and additional programming languages such as JavaScript. Compensation The reference Total Target Compensation (TTC) market range for this position, inclusive of annual base salary and the variable compensation target, is between 78,627.75 – 130,038.26 CAD Annual.
