SUMMARY OF THE POSITIONPerson in a radiology who performs various exams and produces medical images using devices provided for the purpose of helping to achieve a medical diagnosis or for research purposes.SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS* Assesses the clinical information in the medical prescription;* Explains the exam to the patient in order to make sure he or she understands the process;* Positions the patient and the machine according to the examination's requirements;* Chooses the tools essential to achieve the requested medical image.Education:Must have a diploma of college studies with specialization in Radio-Diagnostic Technology from a school recognized by the ministère de l'Éducation, du Loisir et du Sport;Must be a member of the Ordre des technologues en imagerie médicale, en radio-oncologie et en électrophysiologie médicale du Québec.Experience:One year of relevant experience;Experience in office automation and knowledge of applications specific to medical imaging.Knowledge and Abilities:Manual dexterity, good vision and hearing, acuity, attention to detail; Capability to adapt to a constantly evolving technology; Sense of accountability, analytical, and good judgment;Excellent critical thinking, synthesis, organizational and decision-making skills; Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.Language:Fluent in English;Fluency in Cree or French is an asset.Other:Able to adapt to schedule and working conditions changes as well as on-call periods;Autonomous Practice in obstetrical ultrasound is an asset;Willing to travel.
