Job Description:
We are seeking a Level 2 IT Support Technician to join our team in the Saskatoon area. This role involves providing advanced technical support, managing systems, and ensuring smooth IT operations. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, experience in IT support, and the ability to work independently.
Responsibilities:
Provide advanced technical support to users, ensuring they have daily access to necessary data and IT resources.
Manage and maintain existing IT systems, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
Monitor and resolve issues related to IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and software.
Assist in the implementation of new technologies and upgrades to existing systems.
Oversee data and IT security, ensuring compliance with company policies and standards.
Track IT assets and manage software distribution effectively.
Collaborate with various departments on IT-related projects, providing technical expertise and support.
Work with vendors on purchasing equipment and services, resolving technical issues, and ensuring timely delivery.
Support applications and systems, meeting or exceeding standards and service levels while minimizing operational risk.
Identify root causes of technical issues and implement targeted remediation plans.
Ensure timely notification and escalation of issues, providing options and recommendations for resolution.
Assist in disaster recovery planning and execution.
Provide hands-on support for user desktop environments, including Windows 10, Microsoft Office, Autodesk Products, Deswik, Adobe Acrobat, etc.
Research industry standards, best practices, and new technologies, making recommendations for improvement.
Assist with forecasting, budgeting, and scheduling expenditures related to IT operations.
Job Requirements:
Required: College diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
Preferred: Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
Appropriate technical certifications are a plus (CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Professional, etc.).
3+ years of professional experience in IT support and operations.
Strong analytical skills to recognize and assess issues and develop solutions.
Experience with ITIL principles and practices.
Exceptional communication skills to provide clear and effective support to users.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Experience with cloud services and migration projects is a plus.
Knowledge of regulatory or statutory technology compliance requirements.
Mining industry experience is a plus (or other asset-intensive industries).
Previous experience with underground LTE networks and automation of mobile equipment and production dashboards is an asset.
Experience with bandwidth-limited remote sites.
