As a Social Worker II you will work as a part of an Interdisciplinary Team in the fast-paced Emergency Department at Red Deer Regional Hospital. This position offers you the opportunity to work to your full scope of practice with diverse populations. You will be required to prioritize workload, formulate assessments, create intervention plans, make referrals for ongoing treatment and/or discharge planning. The position requires knowledge of relevant legislation including the Personal Directives Act, the Adult Guardianship and Trusteeship Act and the Child and Youth Family Enhancement Act. You will be supported by the Allied Health Area Manager and Social Work Professional Practice Lead. Additionally, there may be opportunities to gain experience as a Social Worker providing service on Inpatient Acute Care Units.
As a Social Worker II, you will be a member of an inter-disciplinary team and provides a range of social work services to patients and their families. Your services may include: psychosocial assessment, resource-based interventions, individual, group and family treatment, risk screening, counselling, case management and coordination, transition or discharge planning, and prevention, promotion and public awareness activities.
Completion of bachelor's degree in Social Work. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW).
