Job Summary:
As the Corporate Development Manager, you will play a key role in driving the company's growth strategy through evaluating and conducting analysis related to potential strategic partnerships, de novo builds, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), and other corporate development initiatives. You will work closely with executive management to identify and evaluate potential opportunities, negotiate deals, and execute transactions that align with the company's long-term objectives. You will own and maintain our financial models (forecast model, near-term cash flow model, new business models, etc.) across the business, including complex and interconnected financial models for new business opportunities and our consolidated business. You will constantly help management determine project returns on business decisions and help present viable projects to our board.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

From time to time this role may be required to supervise more junior team members. Currently no direct supervisory positions.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Analysis: Prepare financial models, valuation and returns analyses, and business case presentations to support decision-making and negotiations. Evaluate deal structures, investment returns, forecasts, and synergies to optimize deal outcomes and maximize shareholder value.
Strategic Planning: Collaborate with senior management to develop and refine the company's corporate development strategy, including identifying growth opportunities, assessing market trends, and analyzing competitive landscapes.
Deal Sourcing and Evaluation: Support executive management to identify potential acquisition targets, strategic partners, and investment opportunities through thorough market research and analysis. Conduct comprehensive due diligence to assess the strategic fit, financial viability, and risks associated with potential deals.
Deal Execution: Support deal process with external parties, including target companies, investors, and other stakeholders. Coordinate cross-functional teams, including legal, finance, and operations, to execute transactions efficiently and effectively.
Post-Merger Integration: Work closely with internal teams to facilitate the integration of acquired companies, ensuring smooth transition and realization of synergies.
Market Intelligence: Stay abreast of industry trends, competitive dynamics, and regulatory developments to inform strategic decision-making and identify emerging opportunities or threats. Provide regular updates and recommendations to senior management based on market insights and analysis.

Required Skills/Abilities:

Strong financial acumen and proficiency in financial analysis, valuation methodologies, and deal structuring.
Exceptional numerical, analytical, and creative problem-solving skills, experience building financial and valuation models.
Strategic thinker with a results-oriented mindset, capable of driving initiatives from conception to completion in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize competing demands to meet deadlines and deliverables.
Exceptional attention to detail.
Comfort with navigating ambiguity and with being constantly challenged/stretched.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field.
MBA, CFA, or CBV would be considered an asset.
4+ years of relevant work experience in Investment Banking, Corporate Finance Advisory, Transaction Advisory, Strategic Finance and / or Corporate Development.
Exposure to or experience with quality of earnings assessments.
Exposure to or experience with transaction documents.
