Glenmore Christian Academy (GCA) is a private Alberta accredited Christian school located in the Southwest of Calgary, Alberta, specializing in the education of children in grades K-9. GCA is a member of AISCA (Association of Independent Schools and Colleges in Alberta) as well as ACSI (Association of Christian Schools International). GCA has an
opportunity for a 1.0 FTE Kindergarten to Grade 3 Physical Education and Grades 4 to 5 Art Teacher . Under the direction and mentorship of the Elementary Principal, this individual will teach K to Grade 3 Phys Ed and Grades 4 and 5 Art. This position is a term contract from August 26, 2024, to June 27, 2025.

Qualifications

Agrees to and adheres to the GCA Statement of Faith - without reservation
Is able to clearly express his or her faith and relationship with Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour
Bachelor of Education
AB Permanent or Interim Certificate
AB Letter of Authority

Skills

Teach students using lessons, discussions, audio-visual presentations, digital delivery and field trips
Design effective strategies to meet the children’s diverse learning needs
Effective communication skills
Ability to handle confidential information
Fluent in English
Excellent English written and oral communication skills
Proven attention to detail, organizational and documenting / tracking skills, as well as analytical problem-solving abilities
