The largest pediatric team in the North Zone provides a wide range of assessment and therapeutic interventions to children aged 0 - 18 years. On your team you will have Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Speech Language Pathology, Early Childhood Intervention Program, Registered Dieticians, Social Work, and Audiology. Strong community relationships with local school divisions, Pediatricians, FSCD, and other local programs allows us to provide a more coordinated service within our community. A strong link with the Tertiary Hospitals in Edmonton is also key to service provision with our more complex clients. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, Alberta Health Services currently has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.
As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will provide clinical professional practice both independently and as a part of a collaborative team, which may include external partners. You will be responsible for providing prevention, health promotion, identification, assessment, intervention, and case management. You will participate in the planning, coordination and delivery of rehabilitation services in collaboration with patients/clients, families, healthcare professionals and other partners. Your leadership and interpersonal skills will aid you in supervising students and providing clinical guidance to other staff as appropriate. You will use your clinical expertise to inform ongoing quality improvement, service integration, and program development.
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology. Active or eligible registration and practice permit with the Alberta College of Speech Language Pathologists and Audiologists (ACSLPA).
Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider certification. Effective assessment, treatment and education skills. Ability to work effectively as a member of an interdisciplinary team.
