Lead Test Automation Engineer (API testing and Testing Kafka Streams Applications using Cucumber and Gherkin)
Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced SDET Engineer with 9-15 years of experience in software development and testing, specializing in Cucumber, BDD, and Java-based testing. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in framework design and development and a good hand on understanding of API testing and Testing Kafka Streams Applications using cucumber and Gherkin.

Responsibilities:
• Design, develop, and maintain robust automation frameworks using Cucumber, Gherkin and Java.
• Implement BDD practices to enhance collaboration and communication between development and testing teams.
• Create and execute automated test scripts to ensure the quality and reliability of software products.
• Testing Kafka Streams Applications responsible for processing real-time events and constructing data streaming applications. Ensure the correct functionality of Kafka Streams applications by performing thorough automation testing.
• Conduct API testing to validate system integrations and data exchanges.
• Perform Kafka consumer invocation testing to ensure the accuracy and efficiency of data streaming processes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify test requirements, design test plans, and develop comprehensive test strategies.
• Analyze test results, identify issues, and work with development teams to resolve defects.
• Continuously improve test processes and methodologies to enhance test coverage and efficiency.
• Develop and execute test plans, test cases, test data, test scenarios, and other testing related documentation based on the requirements and technical specifications.
• Interpret and implement quality assurance standards.
• Ensure data integrity standards.
• Plan, develop, execute, maintain and improve Automated Test Frameworks and Automated Test Scripts for Web and Database applications.
• Identify areas for improvement in the quality system
• Create and maintain libraries and object repositories
• Participate in application planning meetings.
• Perform reviews, walkthroughs, or inspections.
• Work closely with the Development, BA and Business teams to gather and understand use cases for automation

Key Skills:
• Strong understanding of web, mobile, API, desktop, packaged and database test automation technologies
• Ongoing knowledge of automated testing industry best practices and trends
• Experience with test automation and test management tools like SpiraTest
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work in an unstructured, fast-paced environment
• Strong Oral and Written skills
• Hands on experience on implementing BDD using Gherkin/Cucumber and java
• Hands on experience with Selenium, robot framework, Cucumber and other industry famous automation frameworks
• ExperienceSQL
• Demonstrated experience in defining and implementing several test automation solutions leveraging one or more of the following: Selenium webdriver, Cucumber, Appium, RestAssured, SoapUI, Swagger, Postman, Protractor, Jmeter, LoadRunner, Grinder, Gatling
• Experience with tools like Browserstack, Saucelabs SAAS testing platforms
• Advanced experience reading/writing one or more languages: Python, Java,
• Expertise with data driven, keyword driven, script-less, hybrid, and behavior driven automation frameworks
• Expertise in creating UI test frameworks using Page Object Model.
• Hands-on test automation experience in an Agile Development environment
• Hands-on experience specifying, establishing and managing test environments and test data for load and functional test automation
