WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH
As one our first hires, you will report to the Chief Operating Officer and will build and maintain relationships with teams across MFAM, the Mastercard Foundation, external consultants and vendors. You will provide support to all business areas of MFAM. As a member of the team, you will have opportunities to grow and develop, and create meaningful value and lasting impact through the Mastercard Foundation.

The Chief Technology Officer (“CTO”) is a forward-thinking and strategic leader motivated to lead the information technology strategy and operations of MFAM. The CTO plays a pivotal role in positioning the firm to stay ahead of the curve in the rapidly evolving financial services landscape by leveraging technology to enable enhanced returns, optimize operations, and ensure information and data security.

In the first 6-12 months, in this exciting start from scratch assignment, you will be focused on:
Crafting the technology vision and steering the technology roadmap to ensure support for current needs but also enable future growth and competitive advantage.
Infrastructure and architecture prioritization and building the technology function’s team and partnerships, processes, tools, and policies needed to support our vision, strategy, culture, and values.

You will be involved in building out the operating model for our technology function. Responsibilities include:

Technology Strategy and Vision – develop and evolve MFAM’s technology strategy to align with business goals, changing priorities, and organizational culture and values.

Drive innovation , explore emerging technologies and identify opportunities for technology advancement.

Team Leadership and Development – recruit, lead and mentor a high-performing team of technology professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation and continuous improvement.

Operations and Service Delivery – Build a secure and scalable technology platform, including hardware, software, cloud and SaaS solutions and network architecture. Adopt agile practices to facilitate evolving business needs.

Partnership and Collaboration – Foster a collaborative environment where input from various stakeholders is valued, understood and considered in decision making processes to ensure solutions match the business need.

Vendor and Relationship management – Develop and nurture a robust ecosystem of relationships with vendors, service providers, peers and partners to optimize technology investments and initiatives.

Risk Management, Data Security and Compliance – Establish and maintain policies and procedures that ensure the security, privacy and integrity of all data and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Data Management and Analytics : Establish robust data management practices and leverage data analytics to drive insights, improve decision-making, and enhance operational efficiency.

Lead end user technology experience for a growing organization. This will include both in and out of office experience.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED
The CTO requires a blend of advanced technological understanding, strategic business acumen, and leadership skills. They are passionate about technology, excited by the challenges of a dynamic greenfield environment, and driven to make a significant impact.
Seasoned executive who has excellent business acumen and directly applicable technology experience
Demonstrated experience in IT & technology strategic planning and execution
Strong change management background and excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across diverse teams
A proactive, entrepreneurial, and practical mindset. Demonstrated ability to deliver right sized solutions that meet the needs of the business
Strong understanding of asset management and finance industry, including regulatory environment considerations and cybersecurity best practices
Experience and passion for assignments and an organization with a lot of white space. You bring the vision and passion to help build a great organization
Scalability and growth planning experience - Anticipate future technology needs and challenges as the company scales, proactively identifying opportunities and timing for optimization and growth
