POSITION: Intermediate Teacher - temporary ASSIGNMENT: Grade 5/6 FTE: 1.0 LOCATION: Voyageur Elementary School EFFECTIVE DATES: Commencing November 25, 2024, until December 20, 2024, or earlier depending on the return of the incumbent. Basic Qualifications: A successful candidate will hold a valid BC Teaching Certificate and be a member in good standing in the BC Ministry of Education, Teacher Regulation Branch AND possess one or more of the following: Training Specialization: Elementary Education with specialization at the intermediate level Related Teaching Experience: Recent successful experience teaching at the intermediate level A Reasonable Expectation: based on a teacher's skills, abilities, professional development, and overall classroom teaching experience, that the teacher will be able to perform the duties in a successful manner in collaboration with other professional staff. Additional Qualifications: Not required for this posting Other: Willingness to support the school plan for Student Success. Willingness to work as part of the school-based team to implement plans for struggling students. Commitment to working as part of a team in the development and implementation of the School Growth Plan and Aboriginal Enhancement Agreement. There is an expectation to participate in school wide learning and teaching of self-regulation strategies and complex behaviour strategies. We are working on SEL and trauma informed practice to ensure the success of all students. The starting annual salary for the full-time Teacher ranges from $61,175 to $109,520 with placement on the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement.
