Position Summary:
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is an integral part of a collaborative team that offers medical care, recovery programs, and day-to-day support to clients in detox and addiction residential treatment settings. Responsibilities include administering medications, providing nursing care, and supporting clients' recovery efforts through various practical and therapeutic means.
Duties and Responsibilities: Conduct clinical nursing assessments during patient intake and discharge
Collect medical/mental health/substance use history
Administer various tests and screenings
Provide nursing care, monitor vital signs, and administer medications during detox
Offer interventions for acute or chronic conditions and administer medications
Document assessments and progress
Communicate with physicians and schedule appointments
Assist in maintaining quality assurance and updating protocols
Perform general cleaning and sanitization tasks
Experience and Qualifications: Certificate from a recognized Health Care Worker program preferred
Experience in related field is advantageous
Trauma-informed training/experience is a plus
Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
First Aid/CPR certification required
Clear criminal record check
Valid Class 5 Driver's License
